Growing up in China, my days were filled with delicious, nutritious food my mom would create for us.
One of my favorite meals was my mother’s black sesame porridge. It was food as act of care, made with ingredients lovingly chosen to provide energy and wellness.
After moving to the US, I craved a quick breakfast with the flavors of home. So I made my own version of my mama's porridge. It was oatmeal with flavors loved by me and many others, but new to American breakfast. And so Yishi was born!
